Programming Languages

C Language

C is a general-purpose, imperative computer programming language, supporting structured programming, lexical variable scope and recursion, while a static type system prevents many unintended operations. By design, C provides constructs that map efficiently to typical machine instructions, and therefore it has found lasting use in applications that had formerly been coded in assembly language, including operating systems, as well as various application software for computers ranging from supercomputers to embedded systems.

  • Introduction to compiling and software development
  • Basic scalar data types and their operators
  • Flow control Complex data types: arrays, structures and pointers
  • Structuring the code: functions and modules Preprocessing source code.

C++ Language

This is a fast-paced introductory course to the C++ programming language. It is intended for those with little programming background, though prior programming experience will make it easier, and those with previous experience will still learn C++-specific constructs and concepts.

  • Understand and use the basic programming constructs of C/C++
  • Manipulate various C/C++ datatypes, such as arrays, strings, and pointers
  • Isolate and fix common errors in C++ programs
  • Use memory appropriately, including proper allocation/deallocation procedures
  • Apply object-oriented approaches to software problems in C++
  • Write small-scale C++ programs using the above skills

PHP

PHP or hypertext preprocessor is defined as an HTML-embedded scripting language that is used to write web pages. An example of PHP is a script that displays the date in a website. PHP is an alternative to Microsoft's Active Server Page (ASP) technology. As with ASP, the PHP script is embedded within a Web page along with its HTML. Before the page is sent to a user that has requested it, the Web server calls PHP to interpret and perform the operations called for in the PHP script.

An HTML page that includes a PHP script is typically given a file name suffix of ".php" ".php3," or ".phtml". Like ASP, PHP can be thought of as "dynamic HTML pages," since content will vary based on the results of interpreting the script.

JAVA

Java is a general purpose, high-level programming language developed by Sun Microsystems. Java is a programming language expressly designed for use in the distributed environment of the Internet. It was designed to have the "look and feel" of the C++ language, but it is simpler to use than C++ and enforces an object-oriented programming model. Java can be used to create complete applications that may run on a single computer or be distributed among servers and clients in a network. It can also be used to build a small application module or applet for use as part of a Web page. Applets make it possible for a Web page user to interact with the page.
